I’m Katja Hertel, a graduate communication designer & photographer, a mother, and for more than 20 years I have been accompanying couples as they celebrate their union. For me, wedding photography is about creating lasting memories that you can revisit with your children and future generations. My approach is unobtrusive yet attentive. I prefer documentary-style wedding reportage: aware of spontaneous gestures, joyful tears and the details you may not notice yourselves. For the couple shoot I take time to guide you gently so natural, intimate images emerge that genuinely reflect your relationship. Engagement sessions are also part of my offerings and make a lovely rehearsal for the wedding day. What sets me apart is long-standing experience, a trained eye for composition and light, and a genuine sensitivity for emotions. With my background in communication design I pay particular attention to image design, so your photos work beautifully in albums, on walls or in online galleries. The process is personal and clear: we begin with a non-binding consultation to discuss your wishes and the day’s schedule. On the wedding day I work respectfully and flexibly — documentary with an eye for detail. Afterwards you receive a carefully edited selection of images via an online gallery. Optional extras such as my photobooth and a small decor rental can enrich your celebration — feel free to ask. Although I also photograph maternity, babies and families, wedding photography remains my main passion.
