I’m Colin Derks — a wedding photographer based in Freiburg, specializing in natural, lively wedding reportage. Since going freelance in 2014 I’ve been photographing couples across Freiburg, the Black Forest and the surrounding regions. My approach is simple: capture authentic moments, avoid forced poses, and create images that still feel honest and touching decades from now. I work primarily in a documentary style, staying discreet throughout your day to record everything from getting‑ready and the first look to the ceremony and the unscripted moments between. When needed I guide brief couple portraits or organised group shots, always keeping the atmosphere relaxed so genuine expressions come through. A good personal fit matters to me — that’s why I value a pre‑wedding meeting and often an engagement shoot to make the real day feel familiar and comfortable. Preparation is part of my craft: we discuss locations, timing and mood in advance so the photo story unfolds naturally. I use up‑to‑date camera and lighting gear and can include aerial drone shots for striking location views. Each image is lovingly edited to a consistent, timeless look so the complete reportage feels cohesive.
